About Us
Acreseason is a backyard gardening blog based in Fujimi, Nagano, Japan, focused on rhubarb and organic cultivation. Previously known as きたむら家庭菜園, this site continues its gardening journal under a new English brand.
Located in Fujimi Town, Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture, I maintain a small private garden called "Acreseason." This garden was created by reclaiming 538 square meters of abandoned farmland, clearing overgrown trees one by one, and restoring the soil to bring the land back to life.
A Solo Garden Born from Reclaimed Farmland in Fujimi
This garden was once productive farmland that had been neglected for years, eventually becoming overgrown with trees. I have worked to clear the land piece by piece, cultivating the soil to grow vegetables and flowers once again. The name AcreSeason comes from the idea of restoring abandoned farmland (Acre), where time once seemed to stand still beneath the trees, into a place where the seasons return and new life begins to grow again. It reflects my desire to cherish and share the beauty of each passing season and the harvests born from this vast land and ever-changing nature.

Nice to meet you. I am Kitamura 😸, the sole operator of Acreseason.
Since childhood, I have dreamed of growing my own food with my own hands, and that dream has now taken shape as my current goal.
While I mostly work alone, friends occasionally stop by to help. My hobby is creating websites.
Thank you for your support.
Reclaiming Abandoned Farmland
The defining feature of Acreseason is that it was reclaimed from abandoned farmland by a single person.
Our journey so far:
- Clearing overgrown trees
- Soil preparation and enrichment
- Reconstruction as a garden space
- Growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers
Turning neglected land back into a garden step-by-step is the essential foundation of this project.
What I Value
At Acreseason, I believe that everything begins with "preparing the soil."
- Sustainable cultivation without overextension
- Developing the fields while listening to the soil conditions
- Growing vegetables that thrive in the climate of Fujimi Town
My Three Promises (Motto)
-
● Keep it Accessible! - Simply fresh
(Offering budget-friendly prices so you can enjoy fresh produce every day) -
● Bring out Smiles! - Simply happy
(Hearing "This is delicious!" is what keeps me going) -
● Cultivate Love! - Simply loved
(I raise these vegetables like my own children and hope they bring you joy)
Schedule
This is a schedule list summarizing cultivation plans for the home garden, including planting, seed sowing, transplanting seedlings, and planned produce sales dates. You can check garden work plans and direct sales dates in the list. By switching from the “Schedule” view to the “Month” view, you can also see past schedules for the selected month.
Seedbed Map
This simple layout diagram shows the arrangement of seedbeds and planted crops within the home garden. It represents each lane and section so that the placement of seedlings and crop varieties can be easily understood. It is also used to check work schedules and planting order.
Seedbed Names and Year Labels
Seedbed names are assigned and displayed for each garden row. Year labels are also displayed in an easy-to-understand format by assigning alphabetical letters sequentially for each year. Additional seedbeds are planned to be added over time.

Acreseason is still a small, growing garden in progress. By reclaiming abandoned land and carefully tending to our vegetables, I am learning every day. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
