English | 日本語 おはようございます。 現在の時刻は午前6時です。まだ，ひんやりした空気で気持ちいい朝を迎えています。 枯れ葉取りや摘花を終えた菜園の状況 本日は，植えたルバーブに対して摘心という作業を行いました（芯止めともいいますね。）。花を摘み取って，生育に伴い，横から脇芽を出させます。この作業で，茎数を増やし全体的にボリュームを出すための手法です。畝からはいたる所から雑草が生えてきていますので，一緒に摘み取っていきます。若干，虫食いによって傷んだ葉がみられます。 マルチングによる中耕のための除草の状況 そして，追肥用の土を作るための下準備も行います。最初に，除草をしますが，私は，農ポリを利用した除草作業を試しています。すでに土の表面はほぐしていますが，数回，行う予定です。そのうえで，有機肥料を播いて土とよく混ぜます。その効果を最大限に高めるため，この作業も数回に分けて混ぜていきます。根気のいる作業ですね。 ブルーベリーの新葉の状況 9本のブルーベリーの樹がありますが，そのうち，2本だけに新葉がつきました。嬉しいことです。残りの木は，残念ながら枯れています。移植の際，大きな根が蟻の住処になっていたものです。抜き取って処分することを検討しています。その代わりに花を植えたいと思います。 ラズベリーの新葉の状況 この菜園での唯一のラズベリーの若木です。極めて早い成長を見せています。来年には実がつくでしょう。 全体的に雑草が目立つようになってきました。大掛かりな草刈り作業を計画したいと思います。 それでは，今日はこの辺で！ Summary: Today I planted red rhubarb crowns in the cool soil of Fujimi. English | 日本語  皆さん，おはようございます。 本日（4月15日）も午前６時から約2時間の作業です。そろそろ，熊の出没に関する報道を見たり，聞いたりするようになりました。私が作業する菜園は標高約1000mの山の麓にあります。昨（2025）年12月頃，菜園から半径1㎞の範囲内で成獣のツキノワグマが出没しました。 熊撃退スプレーを携行した状況 それ以来，早朝や夕刻に菜園へ行く時に，熊撃退スプレーを必ず携行するようにしました。 このスプレーはSABRE社のFRONTIERSMAN･Bear Attack Deterrentです。 使用時には最大約12mの飛距離があるそうです。 補充用の土作りの状況 さて，今日は，降雨等による定植したルバーブの高畝の欠損を補うための鶏糞を混ぜた柔らかい土を作ります。午後から雨の天気予報でしたので，流出を防ぐために農ポリシートを上から被せます。 農ポリシートを被せている最中の状況 ここで極めて重要なことがあります。それは必ず飛来防止を施すことです。昨年5月，走行中の列車が，強風で線路上に飛ばされてきたとみられる金属製のパイプ小屋と衝突して，乗客が死傷した事故がありました。 私の場合は農ポリシート（農業用ポリエチレンシート）ですが，飛来物としてはかなりの距離を飛来して，鉄道・電柱への付着や走行する電車や車の視界の遮断等といった強風による凶器化が予測されます。 強風が予想されなくとも，必ず重石やシートの端をたっぷりの土で埋め戻すいわゆる土寄せによってシートを固定します。せっかくの楽しみが台無しならないためにも，極めて重要なことです。 若葉が付いたラズベリーの木の状況 最後に，やがて真っ赤な実を実らせるラズベリーの枝に，鮮やかな緑の若葉が顔を出しました。来年には実が付くと思います。鹿に食べられる前に私が食べます。 それでは，今日はこの辺で！ Summary: Today I worked on agricultural maintenance in a mountain garden and took safety precautions while carrying bear spray. English | 日本語 皆さま，おはようございます。 只今，午前5時30分です。 本日（4月13日）は，嬉しい，楽しいルバーブの植え付け作業です。昨夜からワクワクしていました。気温は9度です。ルバーブや作業にとって快適な気温ですね。 植え付けるルバーブの全体の状況 累計で47株目からの植え付けです。私の中ではかなりの量数で多くの収穫が見込めるようです。大切に扱います。 出始めのルバーブの花 1 出始めのルバーブの花 2 所々に小さい花が見られますので，すべての植え付けが終わったら花を取りましょう。 ルバーブを1m間隔で並べる作業の状況 1m間隔でルバーブの根床を掘ります。スコップのブレード部の約2倍程度の深さです。まだ小石がでますね。作業を続けます。  1m間隔で並べたルバーブの状況 根を折ることのないよう丁寧に植え付けます。外気に触れて乾燥した根は生育しませんので，できるだけ早く植え付けていきます。葉には少し虫食いの跡が見られます。ダイコンハムシ（ダイコンサルハムシ）による食害です。 ダイコンハムシ（ Phaedon brassicae ） ダイコンハムシ（ Phaedon brassicae ・別名ダイコンサルハムシ）は，体長が約3〜4mmの小さなコガネムシのような，黒や黒緑の光沢のある色をしているハムシ科の甲虫です。カブ，ダイコン，ハクサイ，コマツナといったアブラナ科の植物の葉が大好物です。触ると，ポロッと落ちる擬死行動が見られます。有機農法のため，私は指で潰します。すべての植え付けが終わったら，花取りと一緒にチェックします。 すべての作業が終了した状況 すべての作業が無事に終了しました。これでルバーブの植え付け作業は完了です。これからは，花の摘み取りと虫による食害のチェック作業を定期的に行います。合計で69株を植え付けました。成長が楽しみです。そして，ご協力をいただいた皆さんへも心から感謝申し上げます。 それでは，今日はこの辺で！ Summary: Today I planted red rhubarb crowns in the cool soil of Fujimi.
