English | 日本語  おはようございます。 暑い日が続いていますが，いかがお過ごしですか。ルバーブの栽培の経過を皆さまへお知らせします。降雨もあってルバーブに最適な環境が保たれています。この適度なこの気候環境はルバーブだけではなく，植物全体に言えることです。 雑草の生育にも良いことなので，さっそく，草取り作業です。 活き活きとしたルバーブの状況  毎週一度の草取りと害虫駆除の作業のおかげでしょうか。若い葉で被害が目立たなくなりました。あまり，害虫も見かけなくなりました。害虫駆除のために納豆水の散布を試そうとしましたが，今回はお預けです。 納豆水は，納豆パックについたぬめり（納豆菌）を水1リットルで薄めて一晩置きます。そして，さらに水1リットルで薄めたものです。病気や一部の害虫を抑える可能性があることから，この水を葉へ軽く散布するものです。 虫食いの少ない健康なルバーブの状況  そして，前回，植えた小豆の苗の状況です。こちらも活き活きしています。2週間，農プラを利用して殺菌した土壌へ植えています。まったく，雑草がありませんでした。しばらくは，なんの心配もないようです。 殺菌した土壌へ植えた小豆の状況  やはり，草取り作業が一番大変なような気がします。腰をかがめての作業ですので，休み休み行いました。 それでは，今日はこの辺で！

English | 日本語 おはようございます。今日は大掛かりな草刈り作業の初日です。朝早くからの作業で気合い十分です。さっそく，草を刈ります。今回は㈱クボタの肩掛式エンジン刈払機 KC222シリーズを利用します。燃料は，25～50対1の混合油4Lを準備しました。パワフルな切れ味です。 草刈り作業前（右側）の全体の状況 作業の途中，突然，思わず，私の近くから，雌の雉が飛びだちました。これは，これはと，飛び立った所へ向かいますと，巣があり，中には多くの卵が入っていました。さっきの雌の雉は，この卵と巣を守っていたのですね。 この土地を必要としているのは，決して人間だけではないということですね。作業を開始して間もないわけではないので，飛び立つまで，しっかり，卵を守っていたわけですね。なんだか，申し訳ない気持ちになりましたね。 雉の巣と卵を発見した状況 他の所にも，同じような卵や巣がないか，注意しながら草刈りを続けます。さっきの雌の雉が戻ってくることを思いながら，そして，注意しながら作業を続けていきます。 早朝とはいえ，気温は25度はあると思いました。かなり汗だくになります。数回の給油を繰り返して，時間通りに無地終了です。きれいに刈ることができました。 鹿や熊の住処を作らないという効果を期待しての草刈り作業ですね。大きくなった雑草の草刈りは非常に面倒です。今のうちにこまめに刈り上げることができました。 草刈り作業後の全体の状況 ちなみに，先の雉の卵があった巣は，周囲の草を現状のままにして，雌雉の戻りを待ってみます。飛び立ってから，かれこれ1時間の作業でしたので，きっと，覚えていると思います。 雉の巣と卵を中心に現状を維持した状況 ちょっと，複雑な気持ちになりましたが，きっと，戻ってくることでしょう。 それでは，今日はこの辺で！

English | 日本語  皆さま，おはようございます。今日はとても良いニュースをお知らせすることができます。 3月7日，苗床（RL-A11）において播種したわさび菜を収穫しました。今年はじめての収穫です。少し小ぶりですが，肥料や農薬を全く使っていない有機野菜の誕生です。 収穫前の菜園内では，わさび菜によく似た植物がありましたので，しっかり観察しながらの収穫です。 収穫前にわさび菜の状況 わさび菜は，アブラナ科の葉物野菜に属します。ギザギザの葉が特徴的ですね。生食もできます。わさびのようなツンとした辛みと爽やかな香りがします。加熱すると辛みや香りがなくなります。 収穫後のわさび菜の全体の状況 極めて小さいた種だったこともあり，根の張り方も浅く細いので簡単に収穫できました。きれいな水でよく土を落とします。 ピザに上に乗せたわさび菜 私のお気に入りの食べ方の一つです。脂っこいチーズやトマトソースをかなり引き締めてくれるわさび菜です。焼き上がり後に後乗せしたものです。ときどき，ピリッとしたわさびの香りがしました。さらに，小さく刻むと香りが引き立つようです。 マヨネーズをかけたわさび菜 この食べ方は，生のわさび菜へマヨネーズをかけただけです。そっけなく，辛さだけが目立つ食べ方でした。 マスタードソースとミートボールとロティサリーチキンに添えたわさび菜 私のお気に入りの食べ方これです。 ミートボールとロティサリーチキンに添えたわさび菜です。肉料理にはわさび菜がかなり相性が強くと思います。後からくる辛みと香りを楽しむことができます。バジルとは，また別の爽やかさがありますね。チキンには，やや軽い感じがしますので，大好きなマスタードを付けました。 収穫の楽しみは新鮮さにつきます。まさに，採れたてをいただけるのは最高ですし，ちょっとした食材についても感謝の気持ちが芽生えるものです。長い時間と管理によって愛着が生まれるものです。これまでの苦労が一機に吹き飛ぶ瞬間でもありますね。 それでは，今日はこの辺で！

English | 日本語  皆さん，おはようございます。 本日は，伸び始めた雑草の草刈りを行いました。例年通りですが，菜園の中央部にしっかりとした苗床ができていますので，作業は少なくて済みます。 草刈り後の菜園の状況（北側） 昨年よりも早い草刈り作業です。雑草の上部を刈り，中央から下部をそのまま残します。刈った草が傘のようになって，日陰を作り，土壌の水分を保つことにします。なお，根本付近まで刈ると細かく伐れた刈草が降雨で塊をつくり逆効果になります。北側は，隣地の樹木が影を作ってくれます。 草刈り後の菜園の状況（南側） 南側は日の出から日の入りまで直接日光が当たりますので，北側と比べると，雑草の生育が良く，色々な種類の雑草があります。
